Reiki
Reiki (pronounced ray-ki) means 'univeral life energy'. It was first developed by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan during the last century. Dr Usui researched and studied ancient techniques of meditation and through this he discovered the powers of natural healing. He continued to practise and teach Reiki for the rest of his life. Today reiki continues to be taught by reiki Masters, each of whom can trace their reiki lineage back to Dr Mikao Usui.
Reiki uses this univeral life energy to help the body heal itself on a spiritual, emotional, psychological and physical level. The reiki practioner is simply a channel through which the energy is drawn by the recipient. Reiki energy will flow to the areas which need healing and it will help to restore balance in the mind and body.
Reiki can be given to humans and animals. At Perfect Pet Care we can offer your pet reiki to help with a variety of problems. Reiki may help to ease arthritic joints, aid recovery after surgery or trauma, and many owners report that reiki has helped make their terminally ill pets more comfortable towards the end. Reiki can also restore emotional balance, helping animals to recover from psychological trauma, grief and stress. This makes reiki particularly beneficial to rescued or recently rehomed pets. A reiki treatment is deeply relaxing and most animals will take to it extremely well. Highly strung and stressed out animals often seem relieved to be given the opportunity to completely relax and have time to rest.
We do ask you to remember that reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended to replace conventional veterinary medicine. We advise that you get your pet checked by a veterinarian before you bring them for reiki treatment.
If you think your pet may benefit from reiki, or if you would like to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact us.
